About Gold Berry Foraging:

Greetings! We are Peter & Bridgette, the founders of Gold Berry Foraging. We moved to Lynn Lake, MB in 2021 after falling in love with the beauty of Northern MB. Ever since then we have basked in the joy and beauty of the Boreal Forest, and now we would love to share its beauty through Gold Berry Foraging.

Venturing in the Boreal Forest reminded us of Tom Bombadil and Goldberry's story from LOTR. We would like to be the Tom Bombadils who will forage botanicals to offer them to you, our beautiful Goldberries. The "gold" is also a nod to the small mining town of Lynn Lake, of which we are current residents, and the "berry" is for the bountiful berries we get each year in this ancient forest. Hence the name Gold Berry Foraging.

What Gold Berry Foraging Offers:

Gold Berry Foraging was created to offer the ancient Boreal Forest's beauty. We believe that the ingredients found in the environment around you are designed to serve all of your needs. We use wild foraged botanicals as star ingredients in our formulations. We have also searched high and low for carrier oils that originated from Canada to use in our formulations. These beautiful ingredients are intentionally formulated for you to achieve resilient skin; perfect for the extreme Canadian climate.

When one looks at nature, everything seems to fit perfectly simply as it is - the river provides a home for the fish, the life of the fish then gives nourishment to the soil around the river, which in turn allows plants to thrive on the shores. On top of sharing the beauty of the Boreal Forest, we also want to offer the tranquility and simplicity that it exudes. That is why we focus on providing just the essentials so that your skincare routine would feel like taking a breath of fresh air.

With all its generosity, we want to show our appreciation of the Boreal Forest by finding ways to take care of it. We forage our beloved Boreal botanicals sustainably by not taking more than what is needed and making sure to leave enough for the plant to be able to thrive for the rest of the year. This goes hand in hand with producing in small batches. On top of that, biodegradable natural ingredients are paired with our beloved Canadian botanicals. It is also important for us to be mindful of the materials we use in our processes and packaging by using local suppliers and the least plastics wherever possible.

About the Founders:

Bridgette graduated from University of MB with a BSc. Major in Genetics. She is excited that all her lab bench experiences are coming to life with her explorations in the Boreal Forest. She later worked as a Pharmacy Assistant at a locally-owned pharmacy in Winnipeg. Bridgette likes reading and knitting during the winter, then gardening and going outdoors in the summer.

Peter has a background in Computer Science. He then later gained experience in and is currently working as a Logistics Coordinator. He is also a member of the Canadian Rangers out of his love for the Boreal Forest. Peter likes hunting, fishing, foraging, and sitting on the moss smoking his pipe as he appreciates the beauty of the Boreal Forest.
